Ivette LaManna explains Mneme Therapy

MnemeTherapy® uses everyday pleasures such as singing, movement, painting and story telling in a unique combination to stimulate changes in the brain for individuals with Autism, Alzheimer's disease, stroke, head injury and other related disorders of the brain. To benefit from the therapy, a participant does not need to be an experienced or talented painter.

My goal in each customized session is to provide a pleasant and rewarding experience for my clients, with a specialized therapeutic approach to memory care. This is a unique opportunity to put my skills and interests to work in helping others in a compassionate and loving way.

Documented testimonies from clients, family members and providers report that many individuals experience significant improvement in verbal skills, mobility, combativeness, spatial acuity, and understanding instructions.

At a young age, I had a passion for art, and experienced how it could change my awareness of the world around me. A close family member was an accomplished artist and art teacher, and she had a big influence on my growing appreciation for the power of art.

I also have considerable training and experience in the health field, and I've done a lot of volunteer work with the church and various non-profit organizations serving children and the elderly.
These three interests - art, health, and service to others - led me to membership in the Art Without Boundaries Association, a non-profit organization which supports and promotes Mneme Therapy worldwide.

As a Therapist, I look forward to those special moments when I can bring a sense of joy and enhanced well-being through art.
